HOW DID THE LOCKDOWNS AFFECT YOU?
I lost my employment

Loss of employment: I refused to comply with the jab mandate, and I was terminated from Metro Trains Melbourne along with 15 other employees. We sought remediation from Fair Work Australia, but they stood by Metro’s decision as it was “government mandate, everyone must comply”. When the government removed the mandate, we appealed in Fair Work Australia, but FWA did not overturn their decision because retrospective action overruling past decisions is not allowed.

The loss of my job meant I survived on savings until I ran out eight months later. I had to end my rental accommodation lease at 207/68 Hayward Lane, Melbourne. I would be living on the street if not for my father’s public housing flat in Fitzroy where I currently still reside.

I have now gained work in security without jab requirement, but I have not been able to regain accommodation in the CBD or my previous employment at Metro.

I want my job back.
