Loss of Freedom

In 2021 My son in the UK got married. This should be a memorable family occasion. Because of restrictions, I was unable to travel to attend the wedding. The one thing a father should be able to do is attend his son’s wedding. While the prime minister was able to travel to the UK for things that seemed important for him at around the same time, and The Queensland Premier travel to Japan, for things that seemed important for her. What is important for me is deemed of no consequence. I was denied what should be my divine right to be at my son’s wedding. It will never come to me again, no price can be put on that. I had to make do with a recording of the ceremony which made no acknowledgement that I even exist. This has and still does causes distress, resentment and anger.

OTHER Loss of Volunteer Status (Loss of Health)

I am a church organist volunteer. And because of that I had to be subjected to assessment, even though the church allowed unvaccinated people to attend without providing exemption. The two scenarios are ludicrous.

The recording opens where I am asked to provide my exemption certificate. I tell them that it is a matter between me and my doctor. They make it difficult, and I tell them that it is shown under duress. I was made me feel that if I didn’t show them something, I would be considered to be a liar.

From about 27 minutes in the recording shows where it becomes overwhelming.

As you will hear from the recording, the two documents “Letter on Vaccine Status” and “Legal and other Issues for Exemption Committee to take on board” were both dismissed out of hand. (There are attachments in the “Legal….” Which can be seen by clicking the paperclip.
As a result of the meeting, I was suspended from playing the organ at the church from January 2022 through to Easter when the rules relaxed. The ruling caused days of anxiety, sleepless nights, and hurt.

Loss of Business

I operate a web site where I make training aids for classical singers and sell them worldwide.

As a result of covid, sales of my training aids have dropped so much that it is not cost effective to keep the site open. I do however do so, because I own a very good domain name. Sales are more than 50% down, and 2022 there was slight, but insignificant improvement. Some sales are better than no sales at all.

Loss of Health
Lockdown stress of not wearing a mask in public when most people were, getting odd looks and comments. I kept going out to a minimum as a result of this, because it caused anxiety and stress to go out. Trying to choose times where there was a minimum of people to do shopping etc. All the above collectively caused anxiety and stress.
