As I did not provide evidence of covid vaccination or a medical exemption as required by the Victorian government mandate I was stood down from full-time employment by my employer Peter Stevens Importers from Friday, 15 October 2021 to Sunday, 4 July 2022. Apart from some personal leave the balance was LWOP. In November 2021 when I did submit a 3 month medical exemption I was instructed to remain on stand down. When I submitted a 6 month medical exemption in January 2022 I was once again instructed to remain on stand down. I was the sole wage earner for my family; my wife a stay at home mum for our 2.5 year-old was also 5 months pregnant at the time. This was a time of enormous stress & financial hardship.
