PRINT YOUR OWN GREAT AUSTRALIAN REBELLION PLACARDS

I’m going to OfficeWorks to get the pdf files printed onto 4 x A4 label (sticky) paper.
(Officeworks only have A4 max label (sticky) paper)
To the best of my knowledge each color print onto one A4 label (sticky) will be $1.09
I’m then going to stick the 4 pages together on a piece of A2 sized cardboard.
Might make double sided placards too.
If you’ve got an A2 printer of course you can just print the A2 graphic.

MY EXPERIENCE MAKING MY FIRST A2 PLACARD:
USING OFFICEWORKS A4 LABEL PAPER (one sticky side)
USE THE FILE Pdf file with 5mm overlap: https://bit.ly/3fwxsdh
It needs a fair bit of technique to put the four A4 sheets together.
You’ll find the label paper has a border all round which is NOT part of the label sheet.
Use Filename: Placard 1 5mm overlap.pdf (very important you use the correct file)
Get them to print pages 1 to 4 ONCE only onto A4 label paper.
(each page printed in color costs $1.10 total)
Check that the image and letters overlap WITHIN the border. ie. you not going to lose stuff when you discard the A4 label borders.
It should fit correctly without any problem.
Then print the other copies as you need them.
TRIMMING:
First top (left) page just slice left edge off
Second top (right) page slice left and right edge off
Third bottom (left) page slice left edge off
Fourth bottom (right) page slice left and right edge off
ALIGNMENT ON A2 BACKING BOARD
I bought black plastic A2 boards from Officeworks for $6.19 each
Stick the pages on in this sequence: top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right.
Top edge of A2 board, leave 7 mm margin
Sides of A2 board, leave 10cm margin
STICKING TECHNIQUE
You have to be ze Artiste.
Top left sheet: ONLY peel the backing off the top edge, align onto the board and then smoothly pull the backing off while you smooth the A4 sheet onto the A2 board.
Top right sheet: ONLY peel the backing off the left edge, align onto the right edge of top left A4 page and then smoothly pull the backing off while you smooth the A4 sheet onto the A2 board
Bottom left sheet: ONLY peel the backing off the top edge, align onto the bottom edge of top left A4 page and then smoothly pull the backing off while you smooth the A4 sheet onto the A2 board.
Bottom right sheet: This one is a bit tricky because you have to line up two edges, top and left. What I found effective is to physically cut off the top line of text and stick in below the Top right sheet, so the text matches. Then peel the backing off the left edge of the remaining bottom right sheet, align onto the right edge of the bottom left A4 page and then smoothly pull the backing off while you smooth the A4 sheet onto the A2 board.
Use a black marker pen to hide any unwanted white edges.
Whew !
You’ll be very proud of the result.
